A visiting U.S. Congressional delegation, led by Senator Benjamin Cardin (D-Maryland), is in Tallinn today to meet with Estonian government officials and learn more about a variety of issues of mutual concern. The 5-person delegation, which includes senators and congresspersons from Maryland, Illinois, Colorado, New York, and Texas, will meet with President Toomas Hendrik Ilves, Prime Minister Andrus Ansip, senior members of the Riigikogu, and visit the Cooperative Cyber Defense Center of Excellence (CCDCOE), where they will meet with Minister of Defense Jaak Aaviksoo.

The delegation is taking time away from their Oslo, Norway-based itinerary, to visit Estonia to learn more about how the government is developing its world-class e-government and cyber defense systems, thank the government for its work in Afghanistan and to express support for Estonia in general.
