Each May, Doors Open Toronto invites the public to explore the city’s most-loved buildings and sites, free of charge. The event provides rare access to buildings not usually open to the public and an opportunity to visit architecturally, historically, culturally and socially significant buildings across the city. Toronto was the first city in North America to launch a Doors Open Day program. Participating buildings have guided tours, exhibits, displays, and activities to enrich visitor experience.

Since its inception in 2000, the event has attracted more than two million visits to nearly 700 unique locations and remains the largest event of its kind in Canada. The event allows people of all ages and background the opportunity to learn about Toronto’s history and celebrate Toronto’s built heritage.

The list of buildings participating in 2024 will be released at the beginning of May in the Toronto Star and on the Doors Open official website. We are honoured to announce that St. Peter’s church was chosen to be on the list of “buildings to visit” this year on May 25th and 26th, 2024.

More details will be coming soon regarding the agenda for the Doors Open weekend. Guided tours of the building and displays outlining our history and architecture will be featured. We are also pleased to announce that the artist that created our stained glass windows, Ernestine Tahedl will be in attendance to greet visitors and talk about her vision and creation of our beautiful windows.

Mark the weekend of May 25th and 26th on your calendar to drop by the church. Details will be posted to our website at: https://www.stpeterstorontoest...

Why do you people always mention something else and not celebrate what you have? It's called heritage. It's here, it's beautiful and we can all share in it!

Having to reply twice using different names demonstrates how little support this new “center” has. Very sad.

Can’t wait to show off our keskus. The pride of not just Toronto but WORLDWIDE eestlus. What an accomplishment. So much to be proud of!
