There were 100 traffic-related deaths in Estonia in 2009. This is a remarkable improvement, considering that in 2008 there were 132 traffic fatalities and in 2007 196 deaths were recorded.

The national traffic safety programme Vision 100 had aimed to reduce the number of traffic-related deaths to 100 by 2015. The 2009 figures mean Estonia met the target six years earlier than hoped for. According to Vision 100, the 2009 figure was expected to be 159 fatalities.
