Representatives of the Expert Group in charge of formulating the NATO Strategic Concept Marie Gervais-Vidricaire of Canada, Hans-Friedrich von Ploetz of Germany, and the representative of the Baltic nations Aivis Ronis are visiting Estonia this week. The representatives of the Expert Group will meet with Minister of Defence Jaak Aaviksoo, chairman of the Riigikogu foreign affairs commission Sven Mikser, chairman of the national defence commission Mati Raidma, and representatives of the Foreign Ministry. The representatives of the Expert Group gave a lecture on the formulation of NATO’s Strategic Concept at Tallinn University.

The members of the Expert Group in charge of formulating the NATO Strategic Concept and director general of the Foreign Ministry’s International Organisations and Security Policy Department Margus Kolga gave a briefing about NATO’s new Strategic Concept in the Foreign Ministry press centre on Monday, 22 March at 12.00. .

The informal meeting of NATO foreign ministers taking place in Tallinn from 22-23 April will mark the first time that the new Strategic Concept is discussed at the ministerial level. The new Strategic Concept should be approved in December of this year at the summit taking place in Lisbon.
