Lithuanians Sunday voted out their conservative government, with initial general election results giving the leading Homeland Union party less than 11% of the votes.

In power since 2008, Andrius Kubilius' government has won praise from other governments and the IMF for a drastic austerity programme to avoid national bankruptcy.
