Germany sees Estonia on way to euro

TALLINN, Jan 13 (Reuters) - European Union heavyweight Germany said on Wednesday the small Baltic state of Estonia is making progress to introducing the euro in 2011, although the final verdict had to come from the European Commission.

Estonia, despite being deep in recession, hopes to meet the key economic targets on inflation and budget deficit set by the EU and adopt the single currency at the start of next year.
