Estonia is considering sending military and infantry units, not staff officers to the Central African Republic, reports Postimees Online. French Defense Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian called his Estonian colleague Urmas Reinsalu on Friday, Dec. 20 to ask for allied help.

“The French defense minister said that France intends to increase its military presence in the Central African Republic since situation there has become tense in the past few days,” Reinsalu told Postimees. "It was France's unequivocal request for allies to provide military help to them there."

Reinsalu said that he answered that Estonia shares France's evaluation to the seriousness of the situation. "Second, I expressed support to France for actively interfering," he said. "Third, I confirmed that Estonia very seriously analyzes possibilities to respond to France's request."

Le Drian and Reinsalu agreed that the heads of the defense forces of the states would discuss the specific needs and possibilities of Estonians to help.

Valitsuse mõistus täiesti ära? Kas selle vastu on mingi legaalne protseduur kained saavad kasutada?
