The Superior Court of Justice of Ontario has ruled in favor of Estonian Air after Canadian based Bombardier sued them for 19 million euros.

The basis of Bombardier's claim was that the Estonian government had improperly influenced Estonian Air, pushing it to break off jet purchasing negotiations in favor of Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer.

In the ruling, which came down on Friday, the court said it lacked the jurisdiction over the Republic of Estonia that would allow it to look into the claim. There could be specific statutory exceptions to the jurisdiction limitation, but Bombardier, the court said, had not supplied proof that those exceptions were applicable.
