President Obama began his latest visit to Europe yesterday, an important trip to reaffirm our core alliances in the world and to highlight our enduring commitment to Europe. European security and prosperity benefit the United States as much as they do Europe.

The President's visit, which includes stops in Dublin, London, Deauville and Warsaw, highlights the vitality of transatlantic relations. This visit will draw attention to our growing cooperation with Europe as a catalyst for global action.

In addition to discussions at the G-8 in Deauville, in Warsaw President Obama will join Polish President Bronisław Komorowski in hosting a meeting with the heads of state of Central and Eastern Europe, including President Toomas Hendrik Ilves of Estonia.
