72 years since operation 'Priboi', meaning 'Coastal Surf', which saw almost 100 000 people from the Baltic States deported to Siberia by the Soviet powers. My grandfather Jaan was nine years old, when he was forced out of this home together with his family on the 26th of March, 1949.
I am remembering all of those who were affected by the Soviet crimes with this newly arranged, heartfelt Siberian Estonian’s folk song, originating from Krasnoyarsk krai in Siberia, to where my family was placed for nearly 10 years.
