The word “respite” has many meanings, rest, relief, break or breathing space. Ehatare Respite Stay covers them all.

Sometimes a senior needs extra care after an illness to rest and recharge. Maybe the winter months are better spent having everything under one roof and not having to venture out in the cold. The caregiver might be going on vacation for a month and wants peace of mind knowing that their loved one is safe and well cared for.

Leili Samler (pictured below) spent a month at Ehatare in November, when her son visited Estonia. During that time, Leili took part in many activities including our traditional Candlelight Dinner with families.

“The time I spend at Ehatare was a vacation for me. The residents and staff were very welcoming and helpful to me. When the time comes, the only place I will go is Ehatare. I had a few friends there already and other residents were very friendly, “ said Leili Samler.

Respite Stay offers the same care as the rental agreement but with short term options. It is also a great way to try out Ehatare. We understand that it is a big decision and transition to move into a retirement home, this is one way to try our home for a month or two and then decide. Respite can also mean spending the winter months with us and spending your summer months at home.

Recent studies show that there are many advantages to retirement home living such as reduced isolation and loneliness, expanded support system, increased peer connections, and improved physical and mental well-being.
