'The previous posts in this string are yet again proof of how completely out of touch the Estonian right wing is with mainstream Canadians and even their own community. You are completely irrelivant!'

1. being a supporter of sodomy does not necessarily put you in the mainstream in Canada
(there should have been a national referendum prior to the homosexual marriage bill being passed)

2. too bad you did not go to private school, your spelling might be better

That it? That's the best you've got? A school yard jab about sodomy and spelling? What's it going to be next: scat?

you sound rather juvenille ... but obviously you think of yourself as a fine product of our public school system

Well, Tory has started the epic backpedaling on his faith based initiatives. He doesn’t know if he’s coming or going!
And surprise, surprise – just like you – he’s going for the good ‘ol “liar, liar pants on fire” routine. Typical of your ilk: if you haven’t – or in your case, you’re simply unable to – give a thoughtful response: go for the personal attack.
Great entertainment. Keep it up.

Youch. This could be the biggest flip-flop in Canadian political history!
What was it again that John Tory said about leadership mattering?
The GREAT PC MELTDOWN '0710 Oct 2007 13:12
And so -unfortunately- endith the political career of John Tory.

This problem is not going to be solved via the usual channels. There is no need to start another foreign language school unless there is enough pressure from a grassroots level to convince the govt. it is absolutely necessary. Unfortunately, the third generation of Estonian language speakers has dwindled to the point where it is almost impossible to prove the need for such a school. This is multiculturalism in reverse.

In Catholic school, the Grade 10 curriculum for one student was: 3 math, 4 English, 4 religion, 2 science and 1 geography class. I was surprised to see more religious courses than almost any other. And having heard about what they learnt in those religion classes, it was not sympathetic towards other religious thoughts and beliefs. You may not like other religions, but one should respect them. Public schools have been "dumbed down" to meet the expectactions of many many parents - in earlier days, students were weeded out before they hit high school and skills training was offered as an alternative to those who had a different skills set or desires than that needed for university and "desk" jobs. Parenting skills are desperately needed for many parents - to teach their kids about things outside the school curriculum, like tolerance, understanding and yes, your personal religious beliefs. So I think that more separate schooling is going to splinter this world even further. Perhaps, instead, we need to work harder to fix the public school system.

Maxim, I know from your previous postings that you see little hope in Canada's Estonian community surviving for any length of time but I hope you are wrong. I respect you and others who have chosen to move to Estonia but it is sad that we have lost so many young and active members of our community. I, on the other hand, see our community as a valuable part of the Canadian cultural mosaic and I hope that we are still here 100 years from now.
There is little point in arguing with those here who support the brainwashing of Canada's children by a lifestyle that attacks the institution of the family when we already have one of the world's lowest birth rates. One would think that the Canadian government would do everything in its power to promote strong families rather than teach impressionable youth that a social movement that did so much damage to ancient Greece and Rome is a positive role model to be promoted in every way.
