It is sad when the richest members of our community promote assimilation with the English in the name of "the spirit of tolerance". What about tolerance for Canada's Estonian-speaking minority? The members of the Majandusklubi have more financial resources than other Estonians and there is no excuse for these people not to be able to speak Estonian when you consider that they have the money to hire Estonian nannies for their children and take regular vacations in Estonia. Shame on you!

1. EMK does not consist of the richest Estonians in the Toronto area... the efforts to attract them have been unsuccessful, but really it is no one's "job" to get them to join the club. Participation and membership is voluntary.
2. EMK
has many segments and presentations (not all ) in english because all of us have been educated in our respective field in english and english is all of our working language. English is used for clarification purposes and this should not be confused with abandoning our heritage!
Also, this means that there is a warm welcome to non estonian spouses.
" Tolerance" for everyone is a given...that is not even an issue.
3. EMK members are not screened by net worth. Many are just average working Estonians living a mid standard, but they have an INTEREST to know more about Business.". I believe that EMK , as a group do not have significantly more financial resources than other Estonians in Toronto, BUT TO ALL ...there is no excuse for any of us not to be able to try to speak Estonian whenever and whereever possible .
4. Sorry I don't know of any member with a nanny.
5. Every income and age group visits Estonia.
6. Perhaps you should come to a meeting to confirm the above and take back your insults.
