Revera Living has enlisted Montgomery Sisam Architects to design an 18-storey seniors' residence along with 2-to-4-storey ancillary buildings on 958 Broadview Ave, which would retain a portion of the 1891-built Chester Public School that still exists on the site today. The building site includes current Toronto Estonian House at 958 Broadview Ave and Estonian Foundation of Canada properties at 954 and 956 Broadview Ave and 72 Chester Hill.

The total gross floor area proposed is approximately 21,664 square meters. Both vehicular and bicycle parking will be provided on site, as well as indoor amenity space. The required rezoning and site plan applications will be submitted at a later date.

The only thing is, that the highrise condo idea at Broadview was risky from the get-go. The entity managing the condo would prefer getting rid of the pesky Estonian community centre in the back, eventually. Would we have been vigilant enough to withstand being outmaneuvered by those running the condo?

The Estonian Centre Project is the one on Madison and was the host of the earlier meeting. This information is about the project on Broadview, and would logically be shared by the new developers.

From the Case Coordinator/Planner of the Ontario Municipal Board (OMB) regarding Case #PL160686 - "...the appeal by the Estonian House in Toronto Limited ("Estonian House") as it relates to 954-958 Broadway Avenue and 72 Chester Hill Road is adjourned sine die." Adjournment sine die (from the Latin "without day") means "without assigning a day for a further meeting or hearing" or to adjourn it for an indefinite period.
