Before the September 2020 Congregational Meeting, it became obvious that the St. Peter’s Board, its minister and Keskus representatives had met to discuss liquidating the St. Peter’s asset for the benefit of Keskus. The minister received a position in the Estonian Studies Center [ESC], [a group at Tartu College which is financially linked with Keskus], and he suggested a ‘lacking’ Keskus asset, [11 Madison], as a desirable home for his St. Peter’s congregation. At that 2020 meeting, the St. Peter’s Board deliberately lied to cause fear amongst its members, saying the church was ‘bankrupt’ although several congregants clearly showed that St. Peter’s was not in imminent financial danger. Nevertheless, the Board continues with their ‘sell St. Peter’s plan’, not for the benefit of its congregation, but rather for the financial benefit of Keskus. Can we say ‘conflict of interest’? Since that time the Board executed one improperly conducted vote in March 2022 that had be redone, and for last November’s vote, the Board has not yet released all of the names of its 'members’ who voted. Why?

But City Councillor Fletcher writes after the sale "The heritage Chester School House which was entombed in the Estonian House for decades will be restored".
2."The new, larger facility will give the Estonian community a higher profile than its population's size suggests, says Tamberg [from the Centre]. 'It will create tremendous pride'."
In fact, to begin with and with the additions "entombing" the old School House, including the Grand Hall by the architect of St. Peter's Estonian Lutheran Church, the Estonian House was a much larger facility than the as yet-to-be-built Centre.

22“From Tragedy to Community”: the 2020 story, videos and photos get across how vibrant and meaningful Estonian House Eesti Maja was while the Centre was to start getting built (see the Grand Hall & St. Peter's, same architect, same acoustics). But spot also the errors! (Why not play bingo with that!) Why should VEMU (or any ONE source) write our history! The City values "buildings that help tell the story of our past". Buildings and other actively used treasures. Save our HERITAGE!

8Congrats trophy wife, sounds like you're happy you won. Not sure what you think you've won exactly or where you're going to get the rest of the money required to get this little glass box built (if it ever happens that is), but good luck to you anyway. If you manage to get your hands on the money from the sale of the church, will that be enough or does the community sell more assets to finance your grandiose plans?

We will win. Good always overcomes evil. KESKUS will be built, the community will unite, and all the toxic remnants of yesteryear (like yourself) will be cast aside. It is a great time. Much to look forward to. I personally, cannot wait!

10The Friends of EH crowd continues their campaign of hatred and misinformation. This psychotic mob of anti Keskus activists continues their effort to slander and destroy anything or anyone that resembles change. I only hope the community at large will one day have the capacity to forgive them for their behaviour.

0Do you trolls not realize that Keskus doesn't have a chance? Let's not exchange yet another building (our most beautiful church) that is our heritage, for a pie in the sky! Will they ever be able to sell that 2-storey putka on Madison for 48M once they go belly up? Do they have renters that will sustain that space? No and No!!!
