FYI, the first installment of this story was prefaced with the following note:

A note to our readers: as we resume this series, much requested by many, we respectfully remind them that the words below were written before WW II by an American searching for a happy country - which she found in Estonia. The errors that follow are hers alone, from the published edition of her book. In the interest of historic accuracy we have reproduced below in full how an American gentelwoman saw, and wrote about, Estonia. The sentiment, we believe, is to be found between the historical and geographical inaccuracies. Eds.)

Right on! The sentiment is truly apparent despite the said inaccuracies. As a foreigner she reaffirms what my parents drilled into me - that Estonia pre-WWII was a nation to behold and admire geographically, socially and politically. Sometimes I thought my parents were biased!?!
