Among decided voters Conservatives have a solid 9 point lead despite the Afghan detainee issue or the focus on the environment (at the Copenhagen conference) controversies in December, declared pollster Nik Nanos in his year-end poll. The undecided number has, however, climbed higher.

Michael Ignatieff has continued to slide downward on the leadership score, showing a 15.8 point drop in the last quarter. Prime Minister Stephen Harper has 94.6 points, NDP leader Jack Layton has 41.2 points and Ignatieff brings up the rear with 39.0 points.

The undecided numbers have, however, grown when rating the three federal party leaders and temper the numbers that Harper has, preventing him from running to the polls quite yet.

How's freedom and liberty working for you up there? Looks like liberty's best friend became it's worst enemy in the great white north!
