Canada is probably doomed. I'm glad I have dual citizenship so I can get out of here when these fools bankrupt this country.

I suppose it is all fine and dandy for EE Online to publish this sort of rubbish as part of its "editorial" content.

What offends me is that it is anonymous.

Yes, I too would be ashamed to put my name to this sort of article. Then again, I wouldn't expect anyone with any sort of credibility to publish it under their masthead uahtqeither.

C'mon Vaado, c'mon Tauno, please pull up your socks a little.

EE should be aware that the content that they have published here was originally part of an email campaign undertaken by a white supremacist group earlier this year.
It's contents are extremist, and do not accurately report any of the facts related to the bill. By publishing this, the editor has jeopradized our community's reputation in Canada and has sullied the newspaper's once good name.
A Tory Bill fro09 Aug 2010 00:20
It should also be noted that it was Gurmant Grewal, a former Conservative MP who introduced this bill back in 2004.

It is actually this bill that is extremist, not the article.

I just spoke with a Liberal MP in my riding and was informed of the following:

- the Liberals were blind-sided by the Bill
- it is getting very little support
- Bob Rae seconded it in order to allow a discussion to occur. Without a seconder, a discussion could not take place
- Bob Rae does not support it
- the initiator no longer supports the Bill, but must go through the motions before it can be axed
- it is highly unlikely the Bill will be passed

This bill is terrible, this is incredible nonsense.

It is so upsetting to hear this type of news when my ema is struggling so much because she had lost her job due to the economy, before she is not quite yet a pensioner & has been getting very little assistance from the government, falling through all the cracks on top of finding herself recently disabled. She has worked hard her whole life and now when I read this bill......and think about how long I've worked myself in this country, almost 20 years, I can't help but shake my head and wonder. It's absolutely ridiculous. Ridiculous. I hear my own friends, immigrants to Canada, speak about how they use the system, so openly and then whine about it all the while. It drives me insane.

Damn ridiculous I tell you. Damn ridiculous.

We vote to leave the situation as it has been....a 10 year wait before eligibility. This is a sad commentary on the way governments are heading blindly into the future....destroying the foundation upon which we seniors live.We deserve more, as far as respect and financial support.
