How can somebody be identified as Vello Vikerkaar, it´´s fictional name of American journalist? In this article he just wants to make fun of Estonian community in Canada.

"He just wants to make fun of Estonian community in Canada."

They are deserving of it, considering their blindness to their discriminatory views that are coming to the fore at place like Peetri Kiirik, Kotka Jarve and Joekaaru. It is a joke that so many Canadian Estonians are unable to be as liberal and open minded as their counterparts in the homeland.

The proper spelling is 'väljakäik'.

Well, de la Trine aside, I believe that Vello Vikerkaar does not have a Passport… any Passport. Oh the person that writes his blog/column does, but the name Vikerkaar doesn’t appear on that Passport.

I even have my doubts about whether the journalist – I use the term loosely – ever lived in Canada, but here I digress.

If all of the commenters (above) had taken the trouble to read the article in its entirety, then it would have been abundantly obvious to them that Vikerkaar is using the infantile technique of building up a (nonexistent) straw man (Taivo) so as to smugly shoot him down with ease and aplomb.

In addition, deliberately using misshapen grammar and translation [i](“Kus on venelasi? (Where are the Russians?)”[i] only adds to this childish charm.

I enjoy reading his blog.
