The word "occupations" in the the sentence above means that Germans too destroyed our Independence War monuments. It seems that our Ministry of Foreign Affairs (EMFA) has used plural only to emphasize that the German occupation was as horrible as the Russian one. Does EMFA not realize that distorting facts will undermine our credibility?

As long as the world sees World War 2 as a conflict purely in terms of Germany v's Russia, there is no way the world will see Estonia's push for freedom for what it is. German uniforms worn by Estnonia soldiers was probably not the best choice a veteran soldier could have made, but what was the alternative? Thanks largely to the pigheaded leftwing thinktanks and lobbys that support Russian interest over Germany, it is a forgone conclusion that Estonia only fought in Germany's interests and not her own.
