Maxim is an overblown self-promoter, who answers his own comments. I'd like him to start his blog, as promised, and leave EE readers in peace. His comments, contrary to his opinion, do nothing to promote positive discussion on these pages. They just make us want to say "SHUT UP ALREADY!"

All criticisms come from the same person, as the style gives it away....anyhow it's clear that you hate me to a tee, but at least I have all my fans who adore me and make up for all the hate that spouts out of you computer. For that reason alone I feel I am welcome here and look forward to providing a useful source of information against all odds.

Yes, there is a juvenile element to The Maxim Show". It always follows the same pattern -- an opening salvo from Maxim which is either: inane, provocative, insulting, mendacious, or demented; followed by critical responses which Maxim repels with manic tenacity.
Like yourself I'm tired of witnessing it. Do you have any suggestions for seeing an end to it?

Well put Slicker. It seems to me that Maxim promised to leave us alone a year or two ago. Obviously he can not be trusted to keep his word. He was back to break his word a month later. M also can't keep quiet even after being exposed a few month back.

Solution? This "my daddy can beat up your daddy" school yard logic is a solution?

This newspaper must do something to curb these sorts of personal attacks. To the outsider, they may be taken as a reflection of our community and may harm the community, this fine publication and otherwise excellent website.

My opposition don't hate my ideas, they hate me personally because I have a Russian name. They refuse to have anything to do with people of slavic origin, or who are of the Orthodox faith, though statistics show that orthodoxy is one of the fastest growing confessions in Estonia! This upsets my oppostion even more. I have reviewed my original opinion and find absolutely nothing offensive in it, but still my opposition haul me across the coals for no reason whatsoever. Because I believe in speaking intellectual truths, with which my opposition has problems, I will continue to be an honest mouthpiece here because EE is a very worthwhile tabloid, and the online version arouses much interest in many places around the globe. If you look back in the archives section, you will find that I often applaude my critics individually when they have some good ideas to express. Unfortunately this time round I can't applaud very loudly, but I look forward to more constructive criticism from them in the future.

It seems to me that the personal attacks on Maxim are provoked by Maxim's general attacks on our (väliseestlaste) community. If left unanswered, a neutral observer might believe that they have some substance.
It seems like a hopeless situation. Maxim is compelled to come here by his mental disorder to work out his grudge against us. We'd love to ignore him; but how?

...you don't have a Russian name! You have a Russian pen name -- Maxim! Have a look at your Canadian birth-certificate! There, you'll see that your name is Erik -- that's with one "e" and a "k" -- a variant of the Estonian 'Eerik' and the English 'Eric'.

The funniest thing about my detractors is that they don't know who I am. I was not born in Canada nor have I ever lived there, and most people think I am Erik Honze, which I certainly am not. But I love your paper and enjoy contributing to it.

On several occasions, you have made references to the Toronto chapter of Vironia and your experience there that has left you with a resentful attitude to the organization and most of its members. I have never stated that they constitute the uncultured mass. Show me those exact words please. Of course you won't find them because I never said them. Naturally I have an inclination towards the Orthodox church, but so did Prince Vladimir before me. I don't see that as a problem, and I would respectfully suggest neither should you. Besides that, your comment has nothing to do with advancing the subject. Sounds as though my comment summed everything up so well, because no one is willing to add to it.

I understand how some of these posts might present unsavoury positions.

For your information, Eesti Elu has a huge readership over the internet. In my judgment, it's richly deserved.
Regrettably, Eesti Elu is debased by the unfortunate megalomaniac Maxim, on a regular basis, and by you, the Hitler-admiring holocaust-denier, on an occasional basis.
I believe that this problem can be solved very simply -- commentary over the internet should be restricted to paid subscribers. That way, cheap-skates with mental problems would be denied the opportunity to mouth-off and cast Estonians everywhere into shame.

I don’t know who “Peter” is, but I’m pretty sure that these heavy and random accusations do amount to slander. Never mind that this individual named someone in an earlier post.
I would kindly ask EE to remove the posts with random accusations and to please ban this individual’s IP address. This newspaper does bear some responsibility in controlling what is said on its site. This individual is completely out of control and is causing damage to the reputation of the community and this newspaper.

I haven't noticed any "random" accusations here; only specific accusations directed to the lying megalomaniac Maxim and the holocaust-denier, Hitler-admirer Peter. Are they slanderous? Certainly, I can't see why. Can you help by providing a bit of detail?

Why don't you assume that he already knows? If he doesn't , then Maxim identified himself as someone he is not in February. I believe that is classified as identity theft.

I think Maxim seems to have finally caught us with our pants down, which was probably his scheme all along. He's just been having us on, and we've wasted our efforts looking up archives for this and that, when really the guy isn´t even one of us. Who is he then?

I've done my best, but Maxim's identity has got me beat. No archival evidence indicates a trace of who he is. As far as I can tell, he is not Konze, but he is a frat with a chip on his shoulder who has made good use of catching up on lost time and sometimes writes pretty interesting commentaries.

This is serious . Someone is using my "id". The post at 8:10 am today was not posted by me (Sherlock). I would ask EE online to investigate to compare my IP with the one posted at 8:10 . Someone obviously is playing a very dangerous game and pretending to be someone they are not.

Aren't we all pretending to be somebody else here (aside from Merilo and some others)? "He stole mu fake identity" cry is hardly worth anybody's time to investigate.

That aside, I believe that "fake Sherlock" is really Maxim himself trying to sow confusion about his identity.
