This proposed new law banning political symbols is stupid beyond belief. Estonia is now a democratic country and such laws belong in totalitarian nations. While it may be offensive to see some small groups of old men or misguided teens wearing Soviet medals and badges it is far more offensive to have a government that bans symbols, books, political parties, etc. It was not too long ago when the Estonian flag and coat of arms were also illegal and it would be truly sad to see Estonia slide backwards to this totalitarian past.

Estonia is currently reeling under the pressure of total psychological inadequacy in terms of Political decision making regarding its German and Russian occupation. At the same time, we need both the East for trade and energy purposes, and the West for security reasons. When the East and West themselves play political games which complicate our state of affairs, then it leaves us even further in confusion. Russia is currently flexing its muscle, and if it sees that the EU is as weak as it currently imagines it to be, then it'll be by byes for us all.
