After the Bolsheviks took power, it was virtually unknown that someone could have the good fortune to be intelligent, and be part of the proletariat class. There were too many opposing interest at work for the proletariat to become happy in his newfound workers state, unless he failed to declare showing any intelligence whatsoever in the first place, whilst helping to rid the state of anyone showing the slightest inclination of logical thinking. That was the primary role of the proletariat class, and it is truly a miracle that under such conditions Estonia somehow by default managed to keep up some kind of economic progress, and keep her cultural life relatively intact.
