Wow, that's pretty harsh. Bad case of envy? It's NEWSPAPER article, in a general interest paper. They write whatever they think will sell papers.

I'm not so sure that carrying an empty violin case around and imagining you want to be a great musician really makes you one in the end, even if you locate yourself in a sheet music outlet somewhere in NY city and happen to be good at triathalon. For most of anyone's last 10 years, they would have been sweating it out to beat the competition. I think this guy is a hoax. Where is his track record as an accomplished artist aside from the bs in this article?
