Two Estonian Canadians among 313 banned from Russia (5)

Two Canadian Estonians, Markus Hess and Marcus Kolga, are among many Canadians who have now been banned from entering Russia, according to a press release on the Russian Foreign Ministry’s website.

The announcement came shortly after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed Canada’s House of Commons.

A total of 313 Canadians have been barred from the country as a tit-for-tat measure against Canada banning many supporters of Russian president Vladimir Putin from entering the country.

The list includes majority of sitting members of Parliament, including Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Foreign Minister Melanie Joy and National Defence Minister Anita Anand. The list also includes many members of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress.

Canada announced a fresh round of sanctions against Russian officials Tuesday morning, mere hours before Russia’s retaliation. The latest round targeted 15 people, most of them Russian military defence officials.

Peace with Freedom23 Mar 2022 13:11
Second only to Ronald Reagan's anti communist politics, the world wide Black Ribbon Day movement initiated and led by Markus Hess put the Soviet communists under constant international pressure. This pressure eventually resulted in freedom for all of the Soviet occupied nations of Central Europe.
