Topolánek toppled: loses vote of no confidence

The Czech government, which currently holds the presidency of the EU, tonight lost a vote of no confidence in the national parliament by 101 votes to 96. The vote throws the EU presidency into disarray and throws into doubt ratification of the Lisbon treaty.
