More than 135 singers and dancers from the Ottawa and Montréal Baltic communities gathered at the Maple Leaf Almrauch Club in Carlsbad Springs on Saturday November 4th to celebrate together at the annual Baltic Oktoberfest. The event was organized by the Baltic Friends.

The feature performance was by the Ottawa Baltic Choir, directed by Loretta Cassidy. Local Estonians in the chorus were represented by Käti Kangro-Hallik, secretary at the Estonian Embassy, and Ülle Baum. Dance music and plenty of oom-pah-pah was provided by the Ottawa Rube band - the largest traditional German band in Canada.
