The Calgary branch of the Alberta Estonian Heritage Society celebrated Jaanipäev, courtesy of hosts Evelin and Steve Fodor on Saturday June 26. A couple of dozen local Estonians enjoyed a gentle afternoon sipping wine and trying a variety of pot-luck dinner items including various salads, barbequed sausages, buns and dessert. AEHS president Bob Kingsep welcomed everyone and greetings from the Estonian Embassy in Ottawa were conveyed. Willy Kalvee entertained us with a few melodies on his mouth organ. Children had fun on a trampoline and the previously dicey weather cooperated with warm sunny fanfare.
