Estonia's prime minister Taavi Rõivas lost a confidence vote in parliament on Wednesday, days after his coalition collapsed amid accusations of stuffing the boards of state-owned companies with loyalists.

The Baltic country's president is now required to propose a new candidate to succeed Rõivas in the next two weeks. Rõivas tweeted he was "honoured to have served the Estonian people for 961 days".
