Looking for a one-of-a-kind Christmas gift for someone special? Come to the Estonian House Art Sale, Saturday December 3, 1 to 6pm. You’re sure to find a present for everyone on Santa’s list. You may even end up keeping something for yourself.
The Estonian House Art Committee is opening its vaults and clearing out paintings, posters and prints from its overflowing collection. This is your chance to pick up a work of art by a favourite Estonian artist during this one-day-only event. Best of all, everything is priced form one dollar to $100.
At 2pm, a few paintings by popular artists Osvald Timmas and Joann Saarniit will be auctioned, with bids starting at $50. Also, various work by Richard Vasard, an underappreciated sculptor known best for his monuments in Estonia, will be for sale. This is an unprecedented opportunity to acquire rarities that seldom appear on the market at a bargain price. Any of these works would make a fine addition to the serious art collection.
Bring your kids, too, and let them browse through our section of collectibles — posters, prints and other curiosities. It’s a fun place for the junior art lover to make a first purchase.
The sale is organized by the Estonian House Art Committee, E-store and Friends of Estonian House, the crew of volunteers that lovingly maintains our community centre. All proceeds go for the benefit of Estonian House.
