To your question, the relevance of both posts is that if you're going to talk for real about social institutions, e.g. banking (US Federal reserve, etc.), the work and the checks and balances of government, you should know something about the institution, whether a particular example of it is corrupt or not. Do the research, find people who will argue in good faith. IMHO.
