Disputes about contracts are quite common in Estonia. The lawyers drafting the contracts obviously can not know what technical aspects are or will be - in contracts to be carried out over a period of many years – of great importance. Those who are responsible for describing the technical requirements are guided by a peculiar conception that detailed requirements to be resolved at a later date – without any change to the financial obligations defined in the signed contract. They assume that the broad requirements can be “interpreted” in accordance with the circumstances that have taken place since signing the contract. The foreign parties to such contracts obviously have no need to do something not clearly defined in the signed contract.
