Wonder what his big payoff will be?

I don't believe that this is something Ilves has tried to push for, was this not in the works or in the plans before he came into office? Therefore I don't think there is any payoff for him. They felt it was for the benefit of the economy.

Ilves has betrayed the Estonian people and nation and should resign.

you may regret having said that

when someone like savisaar is in office.

If Ilves stays then he will take Estonia back 20 years. Hopefully the euro will soon collapse and then him and the others who are so determined to destroy Estonia will really have to re-think their position on the kroon.

Here is a direct quote from Edgar Savisaar "Meie oleme euro poolt rohkem kui Reformierakond."
Both Ilves and Savisaar seek to destroy Estonia and should be replaced by patriotic politicians who represent the interests of the Estonian people, not those of Russia or the EU.

I am just wondering if anyone in this conversation has ever been to Estonia, or even knows where it is?

Why the pointless question?

Could that be you again, Maxim de la Trine? There are no points for displaying bitterness. Go get a life already.

why would eesti push the euro when its a total mess ... but to be a vassal because it pays bruxelles bureaucrats and banking agents, like good nice house cats

Someone once said, where there is no vision, the people perish. This is the predicament for Estonia-a country with the prospect of getting the Euro but with absolutely no adjustment frames in place other than wishful thinking that someone will invest in Estonia. It's a pathetic situation, and the country has been slowly grinding to a halt since Lennart Meri left the scene. Ansip has no idea about fiscal policy and the only thing Padar has wanted is admission to the Eurozone without considering the detail of new directions for Estonia. What is the direction anyway? No one really knows.
