Wonderful work!
Instead of just sucking the community coffers dry, the dead weight at EKN could learn a thing or two from the Yanks. Even one meeting in 3 years would suffice. Does EKN ever publish a public accounting of their books, as it is a community organization? IE Who gets paid to represent us and where that money comes from?

Almost all of the activities of the EKN are done on a voluntary basis.
Yes, it could be more effective, but; that presupposes a commitment from energetic people with some new ideas.
We don't see any "new blood" stepping forth to volunteer. Why? That's a question that the existing leadership should periodically ask itself.
Meanwhile, the rest of us can't really complain too loudly if we're unwilling to make a contribution.

Unfortunately, EKN only represents a few people.
Much work needs to be done if EKN wants to believe that it truly represents the Estionian Candian community.
As previously requested, this organization needs to provide an income statement and balance sheet, as well as summary of activities completed for supporters or potential supporters.
Really?06 Oct 2009 11:59
I was under the impression that the leadership were salaried. Can someone confirm or deny this?
If so, i think that this is a very serious issue that needs to be brought forward in the name of transparency and accountability, of which there has been very little of in the past several years. Has there even been a meeting since the last "election"?
