Ranks among the best interviews ever posted at EE! Eesti without Salo would be so much the poorer. Toronto without Salo-that loss has been indescribable for years!

One mans trash is anothers gold mine. What is so great about this interview ? The use of "sina" instead of "Teie" shows a lack of "class" even if LV knows Salo.
Better luck next time Maxim.

I agree completely.
Salo cuts a dignified and highly intellectual figure. Leivat much less so, especially with his country bumpkin accent and using "sina" in this context was undignified.

VS is known in Estonia for his Melchizedekian wisdom. That Leivat falls back on ol' times is not something to hold against him. Leivat is one of Toronto's biggest assets community-wise, and his critics are just a bunch of poor know-it-alls. That he asks all the right questions, and gets answers of biblical proportions and prophetic authority is something that seems to go amiss with some critics, but that's just another example of the shallowness that some people respond with time and again.

If they are old friends, or at least good acquaintances, then the use of "sina" is NOT inappropriate!
and
Laas IS one of our community's greatest assets.

If what you say is so, Anna, then Salo's use of "Teie" is inappropiate.
Somehow, I doubt it.

because Laas was with a cameraman (Vaado?), 'teie' is probably spoken in that context
