A newly-released film in Estonia, Fritzud ja Blondiinid tells the story of goings-on between our young lovely Estonian blonds, and the handsome German occupiers of the time. A touchy subject for some, but it will no doubt clear the air about misgivings of the time. Try catching it should it ever reach Canadian shores.
????14 May 2008 17:33
You are far too vague.
Tell us about "the story of goings-on between our young lovely Estonian blonds, and the handsome German occupiers". Are you suggesting -- again -- that Estonian women like your mother were a bunch of sluts? No doubt, this would be a "touchy subject for some" if it were true.
Why isn't it a touchy subject for you?
get it out of your system14 May 2008 19:16
Maxim. You should put it down on paper. Tell us about your grudge against Estonians. It'll bring some clarity to your own mind and, perhaps, we wont find you so obnoxious.
Anonymous15 May 2008 10:26
Hey Maxim. As you imply, do you realy know who your father is ?
Maxim.15 May 2008 13:45
It seems that most of my critics have a problem with this film. If there isn't a case to be made for Estonians and Fritzes, there wouldn't be a film in the first place. Most of you show your dislike of the notion by getting personal. It goes to show that you have very little sensitivity towards the subject.
Anonymous15 May 2008 15:55
I doubt that anyone objects to a film that is yet to be seen.
On the other hand, we have a legitimate objection to you and what you do here. In your characteristically inarticulate manner, you come here to denigrate Estonians and laud Russians with vague innuendo. Why, I wonder.
Helena16 May 2008 03:40
See film on eesti näitlejatest kes mängisid vene-nõukogude filmides sakslasi. Kas Sa oled puudega inimene?
Helena16 May 2008 03:43
Maxim on ilmselt puudega inimene või valetaja!
Helena16 May 2008 04:26
This film is about Baltic actors playing nazi german officers in soviet-russian war films. Its not about prostitution or "things going". Maxim you live in Tartu? You didnt went to see the film?
Anonymous16 May 2008 05:32
Maxim on Toronto poiss kes juba nõukaajal asus Eestimaale.
Tänapäevani kannab ikka tigedat vimma väliseestlaste vastu. Teda narriti, sest ta pidas ennast raskekaaluliseks intellektuaaliks piiratud mõistusele vaatamata. Vilets keeleoskus on temal eriti silmapaistev tunnusmärk.
Maxim.16 May 2008 06:17
Anonymous-be honest. Do you really think Helen's English passes at the same level as mine? Yet you take every opportunity to dig your well-oiled heels into my back without the least intention of diminishing your INCREDIBLE BIAS towards me!! Other peoples' poor English get glossed over, but Maxim has to be dragged across the coals whatever it takes. I find your rationality highly amusing to say the least!!

Maxim tutvu palun eesti kultuuriga!
Ouch and sorry about my English.
I did not know I must be fluent to write in Canadian Estonian newspaper!
Thank you, Helena16 May 2008 07:20
The film hasn't appeared in North America so we're hardly in a position to know what it's about.
We're suspicious, for good reason, of anything that Maxim says and grateful to you for alerting us to his malevolent mendacity. If your English isn't flawless, that's understandable because, unlike Maxim, you were not born, raised and mis-educated in an English-speaking country. I suspect that I may speak for many if I were to say that your comments here are very welcome indeed.

Aitäh Helena ja teretulemast EestiElu kommenteerijate perre!
Helena16 May 2008 08:04
Thank you all!
Strange thing is this film had so big advertizing campagne in Estonia so everybody who lives in Estonia must know about it. Maxim must live in big communication hole!
Other thing is - welcome to 21 century! Girls dated germans-so what! We are all one european family! What is wrong if somebodyś father is german? Its not problem in Estonia-why is it in North America?
Puudega16 May 2008 09:34

Puudega inimene-inimene, kel on üks puue-nt.kurt, vaimne puue.
Puuetega inimene-mitme terviseprobleemiga inimene.
Anonymous16 May 2008 15:16
I wish that I could speak better Estonian.
I thought "puudega" meant "with trees".
Helen16 May 2008 15:43
Puu (tree)-puuga
Puud (trees)-puudega
Puue (disability)-puudega, nt. liikumispuue-liikumispuudega inimene, vaimne puue jne
Puuded (disabilities)-puuetega,
nt. Euroopa Puuetega Inimeste Foorum
Puudega inimene-disabled person
(Estonian- english dictionary).
Anonymous16 May 2008 16:46
It seems that "puudega" can mean "with trees" or "with a disability". Is that correct?
Your beautiful Estonian language has a grammar as complicated and mystifying as a Jewish Mass.

Maxim.17 May 2008 14:56
Take a religious lesson while you're at it, Anonymous. Please describe to us all what you mean by "Jewish Mass"? The earliest "Christians" were Galatian Jews, yes, but I don't ever recall them conducting Masses. Maybe you can enlighten us all.
Maxim.17 May 2008 15:01
My point exactly; Helen. But flirting ways of Estonian girls is a taboo subject with Canadian Estonians, because they ignore this chapter of their past. I stressed much the same thing about two years ago, but I have received such intense criticism and character assassination that no Estonian girls were or should ever have been able to date Germans, that now everyone in Canada is up in arms at the thought that maybe, just maybe what Maxim said is true. Of course it is true, and your dismissing of such discriminatory behaviour confirms their suspicions about Fritzes and Blondes, and yes-there are many puuetega konservatiivsed inimesed in Canada. Just visit Toronto Eesti Maja and you'll see for yourself.
Anonymous17 May 2008 17:55
Two years ago when you brought this subject up, you said that you were present at meetings (what pretense!) where the behaviour of Estonian women was discussed. The implication was that they had extraordinarily loose morals, something worthy of discussion decades later.

The film, as Helena has pointed out to you, isn't about this subject. You brought the matter up, out of the blue, to denigrate Estonians as is your habit.
Helen17 May 2008 18:08
Again, Maxim this film is about ACTORS (mostly male) and movie industry!
And as woman I find extremely discriminating and double standard that estonian boys slept around in WW II and when girls went to movies and dance parties they were considered sluts and prostitutes!
I dont see here any touchy subjects, taboos and hidden pasts!
Helena17 May 2008 18:37
Just a note. Its Estonia/North Europe not Bible Belt. Maxim, estonian women are/were sexy, beautiful and liberal, live with it!
I discussed too yesterday in my girl friends company that estonian men sleep around as they slept decades ago:)

Hi Anonymous-you should try a name change. It might influene the outcome of your posting a little better.
Maxim.18 May 2008 04:54
This is a flagrant lie! I haven't put my foot on Estonian soil for the past two years!! Where on earth you've inherited your fantasy I will never know, but you spout out things which are so removed from truth, it's just amazing to read. Nothing will stop you from fighting tooth and nail to rid me from here, such is your hatred. I think your anger has reached new proportions.
Maxim.18 May 2008 04:55
Should read..have not put my foot on Canadian soil...
Maxim.18 May 2008 05:01
Helena. Stop with the pretense that you don't speak English! We've read enough of your postings to figure out that you've been following this site long enough that you are certainly not a newcomer, and you are obviously writing under a different name than your usual one of Anonymous. You're mangling the argument again. I have not suggested Estonian women have ever done more than flirt. I have repeatedly insisted that someone post me from the archives where I have explicitely said such a thing, and as befits the situation, I am still waiting....It is my critics who play below the belt and vociferously use character assassination as a very drastic measure to oust me from this site. However, I have not fallen for their games and believe wholeheartdely in the democratic mindedness of EE to allow a variance of opinion without some wrecking it for the benefit of us all.
Barry Kotter18 May 2008 05:04
Helena-your becoming a laughing stock of the Canadian-Estonian community. We know who you are, and you are just trying to write in lousy English, but it's not working out, is it. So try on a new and better identity, foolgirl.
Karin Mäesalu18 May 2008 05:07
Helena, settle down and take a few pills. We get your drift but the two subjects are completely different. Maxim is a fool, to be sure, but you are not helping us to make him look even worse. Butt out pleeezzzz..
SAARLANE18 May 2008 05:09
