Knowing as much as I do about Russian politics (which is quite a lot), then I am surprised Western politicians are so slow on the uptake in analyzing the benefits of the recent Russian elections. As we all know-and only too well so does Mr Putin-that Russians have not as yet travelled far enough down the road to democracy for them to perceive choosing between a bad and an extremely bad President! If the elections had gone the way most Western politicians, (who have presided over countries with high levels of social stability for successive generations), and the Russian people voted for the likes of Zirinovsky, then I wouldn't fear to suggest there would be more than a state of PANIC around the entire globe. For all his shortcomings, there is no question that Putin has arranged for a peaceful social and political transition of power, and we are too foolish to understand what the alternatives would really mean if, in all likelihood, the elections would have produced a much more disastrous result. It goes without saying that 100% of commentators are not even in that much of the know about the true state of Russian politics, as to have suggested any number of possible scenarios to the outcome that has recently emerged in Russia. Most people seem to think that Russian progress happens overnight-or with their own vision of the right vote at the ballotbox. Russia has acted responsibly enough in these elections, and I think there is little reason to be overly critical of the results.

Lugesin just semu Maxim ehk Maksimi kohta SLÕs. Lisan teiste valgustamisex:

I don't see any evidence as to where I have said I am the only one who know something about this subject. I have said that I know a lot, but that doesn't exclude anyone else from also knowing a lot too. Chances are there are people who know a damn lot about it, but are just too shy to come forward, because of fear of the same old character assassination that is so typical of you and others!

Maxim, in his first comment states that, "It goes without saying that 100% of commentators are not even in that much of the know about the true state of Russian politics..."
