Boycott vodka? What an odd way to end this article. There are lots of good brands of Estonian vodka, in fact if you look at the Wikipedia list of Vodka's you'll see that Eesti has more brands of vodka that most countries in the world.

I think he meant for us to boycott RUSSIAN vodka.
We all know that Estonian vodka is MUCH better - if we could get it here.
(Jaan - are you working on this?)

I don't think Jaan is putting down Estonian triple distilled TALL BLONDE Vodka, I think he's simply making sure that Saku becomes a household product...!

Why would Kalle want Association meetings to be in English? Jõekääru is one of the few Estonian communities in Canada and should be kept as such. The non-Estonians who live or spend their summers there do so because they enjoy the company of Estonians and admire our culture. The English have enough of their own associations in Ontario. Let's keep Jõekääru Estonian.

I grew up in the Uxbridge area with one Estonian parent who didn't
speak at home and wondered if Joekaru would still be there when I
had kids. Non-estonians vacation there because they also enjoy
nature and having less than an hour's drive from Toronto. It's a bonus that the Estonians are pleasant and cultured.
Non-estonians are living there year-round because it's country
property for cheap. I think opening up discussion at Association meetings in English is just smart given the reality that the
non-estonians are already there and there will be more coming. And people are always skeptical of paying money when they don't know where it's going. Consider using both languages for more official aspects (ie. call to order, decisions/announcements, adjournment).
