There are many Estonian children who will be cold and hungry this Winter.

Poverty in Estonia is a sober reality and growing.
Estonia has nearly 100,000 people living below the poverty line, 20,000 of them are children.

We want to help by collecting children's winter clothing: winter coats, warm pants, winter boots, gloves, etc.

Last year we managed to collect and send to Estonia 26 boxes of children's winter gear. Most packages went to South-Estonia where the unemployment rates are the highest.

This year we have partnered with a charity foundation in Rapla, Estonia, "Saagu Valgus" (Let There Be Light) saaguvalgus.ee. The foundation was started and is lead by well-known Estonian singer, Siiri Sisask.
The foundation is doing the actual distribution to the families who need and qualify for help.

Please bring your CLEAN and GENTLY USED children's winter clothes (ages 1 to 16) to NY Estonian House the week of NOVEMBER 1-5, 2011. Mon- Fri at 9am- 8pm, Sat at 9 am- 3pm.

We also appreciate checks to cover our shipping costs. Last year our shipping was covered by Estonian Relief Committee.

If you would like to lend a helping hand please send checks to: Estonian Relief Commitee (marked Winter Gear), 243 East 34th Street, NY, NY 10016. Or you can drop off the check together with the clothes.

We thank you for anything you can do.
