Behind the Desert Storm, a new book by Russian historian Pavel Stroilov that has just been published in Britain—and that has already become a source of controversy—sheds light on top-secret Kremlin documents and suggests that many of today’s problems in the Middle East have their origins in the waning years of the Soviet empire....
