The Government supported the European Union military mission in the Central African Republic and Estonia’s participation

Tallinn, Stenbock House, 16 January 2014 – it was decided at the Government cabinet meeting that Estonia will support the scheduled European Union mission in the Central African Republic and the participation of the Estonian Defence Forces in this mission in accordance with international law.

It was also decided at the cabinet meeting that the Ministry of Defence will prepare a draft resolution of the Riigikogu on the participation of the Estonian Defence Forces in the European Union mission in the Central African Republic.

According to the plans introduced at the Government cabinet meeting, Estonia’s contribution to the mission in the Central African Republic would comprise one infantry platoon and a support unit, a total of up to 55 members of the Defence Forces for a single time.
