Teija went to Montreal and did four perfect routines which got her into the finals. There were 22 superb athletes fighting for the top 12 that moved on to finals. Teija was one of the few athletes with consistently clean routines to take her there.

Teija will be competing at Elite Ontario for a chance at the championships and then progress to Canadian Individual Championships. The Junior PanAm games are in Guatemala where she can compete with other athletes for a chance at the PanAm championship title.

Teija has been doing gymnastics since the age of 7, she progressed quickly through the different levels – in her first year, at the Inter-club level, she won 2nd place. The Judges approached her coach and asked about her and suggested that she enter the Provincial level where she came second place in her level at the Ontario Championships. The following year with the help of one of the highest ranking Coaches in Rhythmic Gymnastics, Svetlana Joukova, she became a Provincial Champion. Her progress has been steady and because of her natural flexibility and nice lines she has made strides in her career. Her other accomplishments are – Ontario Champion, Eastern Regional Championship, 5 time Canadian Champion with the Group. She has been on the podium with the best in Ontario, Eastern Region as well as Nationals. We wish her luck in the upcoming competitions and will keep you posted on the developments of our little Estonian prize.
