STATUS OF “RAINFOREST RESIDENCES”IN COSTA RICA IN 2014

As one of Integrated Conservation Research (ICR) (www.incores.org) demonstration projects, “Rainforest Residences” is designed as a model for reforestation supported by limited, small scale real estate development for nature lovers. A preserved original forest is a “value added” to the residents. The concept is similar to golfers owning a home overlooking a golf course. Carara National Park can be seen on the horizon, a former teak plantation is being replaced by restored native forest, and Tarcolitos River can be reached within a 15 minute walk. Wildlife is abundant in this dynamic ecosystem. All lots are accessible from the main road by a community road (“Servidumbre Agricola).

Emerging health and financial issues preclude the developer from continuing this ecologically valuable project. Therefore, ICR is segregating the contiguous 8 lots (1-8) and offers them at “Wholesale) price to an interested buyer to continue the development and marketing. All reasonable offers will be considered.
