Sprockets Toronto International Film Festival for Children, a division of the Toronto International Film Festival Group is celebrating its 10th Anniversary this April. The festival will take place from April 13 to April 22, 2007, offering a diverse selection of international films that celebrate cultures from around the globe.
Sprockets is quickly emerging as an important cultural event – last year attracting attendance of over 20,000! Their mission is to engage, educate, and entertain youth through the art of the moving image. The festival will present, for the first time, Estonian film content.
They will be screening 3 Estonian shorts this year:
Loot Bat Shorts Programme Carrot! (Porgand!) Director: Pärtel Tall
7 Minutes, no dialogue, screens alongside several international shorts
Animated Animal Tales Programme Miriam’s Nest Box (Miriami Pesakast) Director: Riho Unt
5 minutes, no dialogue, screens alongside 1 Estonian short and 4 international shorts
The Little Short-sighted Snake (Väike Lühinägelik Boamadu) Directors: Aina Järvine & Meelis Arulepp
11 minutes, in Estonian with English subtitles read aloud by a reader, screens alongside 1 Estonian short and 4 international shorts
