ERR NewsProdded by an insistent interviewer, Centre Party chairman Edgar Savisaar denied asking Russian Railways head Vladimir Yakunin for money for his party, countering a report released by the Security Police that indicates otherwise.
Interviewed on Vikerraadio, Savisaar was asked for a yes or no answer. He had previously refused to give such an answer, saying that he did not want to dignify it with a response.
Savisaar initially dodged the radio interviewer's question by claiming that many Estonian politicians had approached top Russian businessmen for money, but that unlike the others, he had actually received funding.
