One Million Acts of Green calls on Canadians for one final push
04 Jun 2009 EWR Online
TORONTO - June 4, 2009 - On June 9th, One Million Acts of Green (OMAoG), in partnership with Cisco and the CBC, is challenging all Canadians to mount a final push and see how many Acts of Green we can log in one day.

"The success of One Million Acts of Green clearly demonstrates the power and potential of the Human Network", says Willa Black, corporate marketing lead at Cisco Canada. "Canadians are showing their commitment to environmental sustainability by registering thousands of acts virtually each and every day of the campaign. We are close to doubling our goal of one million - and saving more than 100 million kilograms of greenhouse gases. We'd like to extend one last Million Acts challenge on June 9th to help us hit these remarkable benchmarks. Let's show the world what Canada can do!"

To encourage participation, One Million Acts of Green has added 10 new summer acts to the site. Based on suggestions from the OMAoG community, the new acts include simple ways to keep your house cool, save energy and green your garden naturally.

On July 1st, the OMAoG Canadian site will be transitioned into a global program. We've already inspired the world to join OMAoG, but let's continue to lead the world and demonstrate our green spirit. The goal has been set Canada - one day, one big impact.
