HELSINKI (AFP) - Nord Stream's planned gas pipeline project has been given permission to destroy old mines lying in the Baltic Sea in Finland's economic zone.
The 1,220-kilometre (760-mile) pipeline, which would deliver energy from Russia to Germany, needs the green light from Finland, Sweden and Denmark before construction can begin as it will run close to their Baltic coastlines.
