As Estonia prepares to adopt the euro and become the European Capital of Culture, a budget airline has revealed new plans to offer flights to Tallinn.

Ryanair will offer a fourth direct flight to the Estonian capital in summer 2011 from the East Midlands as demand for services to the region increases as the country's international profile develops.

The carrier recently revealed plans to operate direct flights to Tallinn from London Luton and Edinburgh starting on January 10th. Ryanair also begin a non-stop service to the capital city from Dublin last week.

Estonia Tourist Board's director, Tarmo Mutso, said "We are delighted with the airline's confidence in Estonia as a tourist destination.

He added: "Tallinn is hosting a daily programme of cultural events...The celebrations will greatly increase Tallinn's attraction for visiting British and Irish guests in 2011."

Tallinn's main attraction at the moment is the city's traditional Christmas market that will run until January in the town square.
