The third annual JK Jazz Festival, scheduled for Sat Aug 29 & Sun Aug 30, 2009, on the grounds of Estonian Children's Camp "Jõekääru" (a.k.a. Camp JK), is gaining increasingly more profile. Toronto jazz radio station Jazz FM 91.1 has listed the festival on their Events Calendar, accessible at:

This year's JK Jazz headliners include world-renowned jazz piano virtuoso Kristjan Randalu, Estonian singing sensation Liisi Koikson (who was also the female lead in the 2008 estdocs Gala Screening of full length feature film "Detsembrikuumus"), Marek Talts, Canadian jazz stars Adrean Farrugia & Sophia Perlman, backed up by drummer Terry Clarke and bassist Eric Soostar, both of whom are also household names in Canadian music circles, and others.

Once again, two young students from the Tartu University Jazz Faculty will be working as music programme counsellors at Camp JK from July 12 to August 15. Their exchange trip to Canada will culminate with their performance at JK Jazz 2009.
