JBANC mourns the passing of Juhan Simonson on Nov. 16 in New Jersey. He had been serving as a longtime board member and a former President of the Estonian American National Council and of JBANC (1978-1996).

On Sept. 29 Simonson was recognized by EANC for his distinguished past leadership, especially during the times of Estonia’s struggle for re-independence and events thereafter. A funeral service will be held on Nov. 23, at the Lakewood, NJ, Estonian church.
